The DoomRiTuaL

What is the doomritual? It is a religious act performed by members of the inner circle of the cult of the demon lord known as badvibe. It is their most sacred religious practice surrounded in much secrecy and ceremony. It is known that the ritual involves human sacrifice of 'one pure of mind and thought'. Babies are a particular favourite it is said. The ceremony is believed to have been given to the cult folowers by the demon himself and enables him to commune with the priest performing the ritual imparting both knowledge, orders and wisdom.

The focus is on the priest who will commune with the demon. He will normally have undergone intense meditations, fasting and preparation for days prior to the communion to prepare his mind for the ordeal. The preparations are an important step in protecting the priests mind from that of the demon. There are accounts of many priests being driven mad by the experience.

A scribe (or archivist ) who is himself a high priest and several helpers are usually on hand during the ritual. It is the scribes role to record the words and images described during the communion. This record is sacred and carefully selected passages and images are fed back to the wider cult congregation through sessions of worship and prayer.
