The DoomRiTuaL

What is the DoomRiTuaL?

It is a religious act performed by priests of the cult of the Demon Lord known as bAdvibe. The act is intended to bring the priests into closer attunement with the Demon, to get closer to his thoughts and desires.

This is a dangerous practice and has been known to drive many priests to irrevocable insanity. Intense meditations, fasting and preparation for days prior to the DoomRiTuaL are all that protect the priest's mind throughout the ordeal. A curious side effect of the ritual is an occassional glimpse of images and events that are experienced by the Demon itself. As the Demon transcends the material world these thoughts and images are not necessarily constrained to our miserable existence. Unfortunately, the Demon is itself attuned only with misery, pain, suffering and above all else Fear.  Thus it is that the visions imparted to the priests cover these and few other themes.

A scribe (or archivist ) is usually on hand during the ritual. It is the scribe's role to record the words and images revealed during the communion. This record is usually included in the Great Archive.

This particular tome (known generally as the Archive of the DoomRiTuaL) is a personal selection of the Chief Archivist and held on public display in the Grand Library in Dul Araya most days.
