Mistress of the Beast

They had travelled far for revenge. But there was much killing still to do...

warrior woman waiting for ship, or watching it depart

It was a long road that they had to travel and it was doubly so now that they would be forced to avoid the plains of Amon-Ravu. She had heard that the armies of bAdvibe and his enemy in the north had clashed upong the fields. The battle would rage for days and even afterwards, scavangers and deserters would be lying in wait of the unsuspecting traveller. It was too dangerous and she could not risk her mission.

She was forced then to take the mountain pass which was almost as bad. But in a confined space at least most would think twice before attacking a Wharr Rider. Honour demanded that her quest succeed. Her clan had been annihilated in a skirmish a few weeks earlier by a large band of savages and half breeds. She had sworn the blood oath of her people. As the last, she would not rest until her people were avenged even though she knew her chances were not great.

She had tracked the hoard now for two days, but she feared that they had crossed the plains before the onslaught of battle that now raged there. Her diversion would cost her precious time. If she lost the trailnow as a result of this then honour would demand that she took her own life. She must not fail...
